Slovenian manufacturer SIP has extended its range of HD series mowers with the DISC HD 1000 D, a 10 metre double carry mower. The front-mounted SILVERCUT DISC 300 F has a “trailed” linkage. The rear has a telescopic arm combination with an extension of plus or minus 50 cm per mowing unit. This chassis allows the overall cutting width to be varied and the overlap with the front mower to be compensated for in curves and on sloping terrain. The HPS hydro-pneumatic suspension ensures that the mowing units follow the ground.

If an obstacle is encountered, each mower can move backwards and lift upwards at the same time. The 44.5 cm long discs, with two blades each, are protected by individual safety systems. The drive shaft is crossed by a shear pin which breaks in the event of overloading, for example due to impact, thus protecting the kinematics.

In general, the main drive is protected by friction clutch limiters and overload sensors protect the mechanics, particularly on the conditioner side. The finger conditioner is equipped with semi-flexible double V-shaped steel fingers. The mower with conditioner offers the option of upgrading with a transpot belt which, in combination with the telescopic chassis, forms a centre swath from 1,8 to 3,5 m wide.
